Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Description
A contract Manufacturing company is seeking a skilled financial specialist to join our AP team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners
Responsibilities
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
- Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry and analysis.
- Execute reconciliation on statements from suppliers and vendors.
- Resolve any invoicing questions
- Work alongside numerous internal groups to gather information regarding updates on aging reports.
- Complete status reports on weekly activity
- Assist senior team members as needed
Job Requirements
Required skills and qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-6 Years of experience in Accounting, pref. Accounts Payable
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation
- Experience processing payables through POs, ERP systems, and a 3-way match process
- Written and Verbal communication skills.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent
- Strong mathematical skills
- Experience in accounts payable (or accounts receivable)
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms
