A manufacturing company in Fremont, CA is looking for an Assembler to perform a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations on assemblies and/or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing component assembly, tooling setup and braze furnace loading profiles. Executes setups and makes adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications. Quickly and accurately communicates issues within the specified work area or cell. Mentors and provides guidance to fellow employees with less experience or those in training.

  • Continually exhibit proficiency in company policies and objectives
  • Apply job skills and manufacturing training on the following:
    • Product packaging processes to include: modules, holders, accessories and lightsources
    • Accessory and holder assembly
  • Apply job skills and manufacturing training on the following:
    • Preliminary lightsource assembly focused on components and sub assemblies
    • Module assembly focused on 1-inch and 1-inch low profile products
  • Apply job skills and manufacturing training with minimal supervisor oversight on the following:
    • Intermediate lightsource assembly focused on electro-mechanical and system assembly
    • Module assembly focused on 1.4-inch, >1.4-inch, and >2-inch modules
  • Continue manufacturing training as specified by the Cell Coordinator and Production Supervisor on the following:
    • Advanced lightsource assembly focused on system assembly and final assembly operations
  • Work directly with Champion / Trainer to ensure complete understanding of training material
  • Work directly with support functions (e.g. Engineering; Supply Chain) to creatively resolve ‘all’ issues related to production including material shortages, manufacturing order requirements (material, documentation, etc.), equipment problems, and yields
  • Continued exposure and training regarding the use of manufacturing documentation, manufacturing tooling. 

High school diploma or equivalent

5 – 8 years experience is electro-mechanical assemblies.

Ability to read & understand assembly drawings, manufacturing procedures

Able to use test instruments to check the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies

Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting experience a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, with general direction from Production Supervisors

Familiar with computer operations including MS Office Applications

Training and working knowledge of appropriate processing equipment

Training and working knowledge of safety and environmental issues within a manufacturing environment

Training and working knowledge in SPC (Statistical Process Control)

Proficient organizational skills

Proficient written and oral communication skills

Proficient leadership, team building, and conflict resolution skills
