A manufacturing company in Fremont is looking for Chemical Mix Technician for setting up, mixing and/or delivering production chemicals used in a manufacturing or process area where accuracy of chemical composition is important (e.g. nickel plating; acid etching) in process operation.  Works from written and verbal instructions. Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. Performs maintenance of chemical baths and tooling / equipment. Quickly and accurately communicates issues within the specified work area. Mentors and provides guidance to fellow employees with less experience or those in training.

Responsibilities:

  • Ceramic component preparation to include: packaging removal and inspection; loading / unloading of chemical processing racks and tooling
  • Ceramic component cleaning to include: ultrasonic cleaning; micro-solution dip; DI water rinse
  • Ceramic component surface preparation to include: dull nickel plating; bright nickel plating; re-work stripping procedures
  • Sapphire component preparation to include: packaging removal and inspection; loading / unloading of chemical processing racks and tooling
  • Sapphire component cleaning to include: ultrasonic cleaning; micro-solution dip; DI water rinse
  • Sapphire component surface preparation to include: dull nickel plating; bright nickel plating
  • Metal component preparation to include: packaging removal and inspection; loading / unloading of chemical processing racks and tooling
  • Metal component cleaning to include: alkaline cleaning; micro-solution dip; DI water rinse
  • Metal component surface preparation to include: dull nickel plating; bright nickel plating
  • Metal component surface preparation to include: formic acid etching; nitric acid etching; hydrogen peroxide etching
  • General chemical awareness and proper disposal procedures
  • Proper use and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Operation and operator-level maintenance of waste disposal equipment
  • Proper use of respiratory equipment related to etching processes
  • Work directly with Champion / Trainer to ensure complete understanding of training material
  • Work directly with support functions (e.g. Engineering; Supply Chain) to creatively resolve ‘all’ issues related to production including material shortages, manufacturing order requirements (material, documentation, etc.), equipment problems, and yields

High school diploma or equivalent

2 – 5 years of related experience.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, with general direction from Production Supervisors

Familiar with computer operations including MS Office Applications

Training and working knowledge of appropriate processing equipment

Training and working knowledge of safety and environmental issues within a manufacturing environment

Training and working knowledge in SPC (Statistical Process Control)

Proficient organizational skills

Proficient written and oral communication skills

Proficient leadership, team building, and conflict resolution skills
