Failure Investigation Associate Scientist

A biomedical manufacturing company located in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Failure Investigation Associate Scientist to join their team. 

  • Execute and document analytical and clinical studies
  • Analyze data and prepare graphs and tables to be incorporated into reports.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in brainstorming, risk management and other reliability activities
  • Support evaluation of potential mitigations and corrective actions
  • Contribute to final report for each project

Education or Experience (in years): 

Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Minimum 0 to 2 years relevant experience

Knowledge and skills: 

Previous experience in a microbiology or chemistry laboratory

Familiarity with running real-time PCR assays 

Ability to handle multiple projects and experiments simultaneously

Excellent communication, writing, and documentation skills

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and other tools for data presentation and analysis

Ability to work independently and in a team setting

Physical requirements/abilities: 

Ability to work in an office and lab environment

Other: 

This role requires the associate is hands-on in the laboratory, including the use of hazardous chemicals and clinical specimens.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

1 or more years of relevant professional experience

Experience working in a regulated (ISO-13485) industry

Experience with real-time multiplex PCR

Experience with fluidic handling systems

Familiarity with MiniTab analysis software

Familiarity with clinical sample techniques and handling

Basic knowledge of statistics
