Purchasing Assistant

A biotech manufacturing company in Sunnyvale, CA is looking for a Purchasing Assistant with inventory, shipping and data entry experience to assist with purchasing, receiving, inventory, kitting, status updates. Coordinate with purchasing, stockroom, shipping and receiving


  • Enter and track purchase requisitions into iBuy system
  • Use SAP, Microsoft Sharepoint  and Excel to perform receiving, inventory, kitting and provide status updates on each
  • Maintain BOM trackers throughout purchasing process from requisition, receipt, inventory and kitting
  • From status reports find late unreceived parts
  • Work with project leads and managers to track down missing parts
  • Work with suppliers to expedite needed parts
  • Act as back-up to purchasing and stockroom coordinators
  • Complete shipping forms and work with shipping to ship domestically and internationally parcels and pallets
  • Complete consumable stockroom  forms and work with consumables stockroom to request parts

High School graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level

Minimum of 1 year of direct related experience 

Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical and pneumatic part names, descriptions and numbers

Experience in purchasing, receiving, kitting and inventory/stockroom operations

Experience in entering purchase requisitions, updating excel spreadsheets and forms

MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude

Must be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy

Must have ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.


  • SolidWorks knowledge
  • Agile/Document control/Configuration Management Experience
  • SAP experience
  • iBuy experience
