Technical Project Manager
A medical device manufacturing company in Sunnyvale, CA is currently searching for a Technical Project Manager to support their molecular diagnostic system.
This role is a part of the System Engineering team. The primary responsibilities will be leading the plan and implementation of project(s) focused on diagnosing and resolving technical issues; production, customer complaints, and development. The role focuses on medium and high complexity issues requiring a quick turnaround time and providing key feedback to development organizations on guidelines for quality and reliability expectations. This Project Manager will interface with all levels of the company and collaborates with Product Development, New Product Introduction Engineering, Software Engineering, Supply Chain, Software Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Regulatory, Customer Care, and Manufacturing as well as other cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must demonstrate leadership skill, drive, and self-initiative to deliver clear business outcome.
- Lead the planning and implementation of project(s)
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Uses project management tools including to identify trends and areas of issues
- Define investigation task, schedules and resource requirements
- Manage project resource allocation, and track project deliverables
- Communication of results and Key Performance Metrics to executive leadership
- Provide recommendations for direction and/or countermeasures
- Recommend and implement improvements to current workflows, procedures, and techniques
Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience
Fields of Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred, OR Optical Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bio-engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field.
Direct work experience in Project Management
Experience in Project Management software
Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical test, and optics fundamentals, particularly in electrical functional test, and optical measurement techniques.
Analyzes data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
Experience in contract manufacturer product transfer, and medical/Biotech industry.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering problems by analyzing existing product issues and performance.
Knowledge of electrical systems and apparatus, such as optical sensor, electric motors, sensors, LED, machinery controls, PCBA, cable harness, touch screen, LCD, battery, printer, and scanner.
Clear and concise technical writing for the documentation of experiments and test reports
Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
Excellent writing and documentation skills
Experience working in Engineering laboratory
Experience in people management
Experience in risk management
Experience with design of experiments (DoE)
Experience with root cause analysis techniques and documentation of results
Experience with Data analysis using MiniTab, Origin, Mathematica, Matlab, or equivalent software. Experience with basic statistics.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or within manufacturing operations under cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations
